The supply of distribution lockers saves 1.5 FTE

Volkel Air Base is one of the two Dutch F35 bases. Thanks to the lockers that WEWO Interior Concepts has supplied to this military base, soldiers can now collect their ordered work clothing 24/7. Previously, they had to report to the distribution desk during the working hours of their colleagues (1.5 FTE).

166 distribution lockers for military clothing

With a special badge, the clothing service of the Dutch army (KSP) can quickly place packages in one of the 166 distribution lockers in the locker wall. The lockers have several sizes and are made out of robust solid core. The hinges are also robust: they are made out of stainless steel, can open 180 degrees and close automatically. The touchscreen is securely mounted behind a high-end glass panel.

Collect and return clothing in a distribution locker

Each clothing package contains a barcode that is created by KPU, the company that supplies the clothing. We use this barcode for identification. The barcode is then digitized and sent as a QR code in an email to the recipient. This makes the process fast and reliable. The soldier can then open the distribution locker with the QR code and collect one or more packages. An algorithm in the software determines how many packages a soldier can receive at once, and the software automatically links the different packages. The soldier always has four weeks to collect the clothing - after that, the clothing will automatically be returned. Clothing that is not to the soldiers liking can also be returned via the lockers.
