In the organisation’s new head office in Amsterdam, WEWO Interior Concepts carried out an assignment to place as many as 549 lockers.

Electronic lockers
The 549 electronic lockers are divided over five floors. The majority of the lockers is intended for the staff. They don’t have a fixed locker in the building, but can every day choose a locker on a floor that suits them best. They can only use one locker at a time. Because the choice was made for the Metra locking system with a touchscreen, employees use this screen to open their chosen locker. They use their staff card for identification. This is convenient because they don’t have to remember a pin code or locker number.
Assigning and opening lockers with a touchscreen
In addition to the lockers for the employees, there is also a locker block available for visitors and students who only need a locker once. They also use the aforementioned touchscreen to assign and open their locker. Fun fact: the touchscreen was designed in the house style of De Bijenkorf. Thanks to this customized branding, the lockers fit into the building seamlessly.
User-friendly and efficient locker management software
To make the management of the lockers as easy as possible, the choice was made for central web-based software. The administrator can quickly and easily
- receive alarm notifications and see malfunctions;
- register lockers for cleaning or maintenance;
- reserve, extend, or release lockers;
- assign a large number of lockers to different users with one press of the button;
- and gain insight into who is using which locker.
In short, the user-friendly and efficient management software fully unburdens the administrator in all their activities. That’s why we provided the best solution for the Bijenkorf, for both locker users and the administrator.
